A major change brings the new function
This enables a quick switchover between different installations. The following data belongs to a project:
- Settings of the CAN bus, special baud rates
- Valuation settings (rating)
- Predefined station lists (measurement of stations)
- Send lists (protocol monitor)
- Symbol files for decoding (protocol monitor)
- Measurement data of all apps
- Archive files
- Trace files
- Background image
These data are available for each project and can be used independently of each other. If a new project is created before a measurement, the data previously stored on the device is no longer overwritten. A further advantage is that archive files and screenshots are now also stored in a folder per installation (to the project) and not just in chronological order.
The projects can be created, deleted and named directly in CANtouch without the need to connect to a computer.
As a result of this function, the folder structure on the drive has been changed. In the new folder » Projects, a folder is created for each newly created project. The existing subfolder » Default contains the folders and measurement files, which are created without using the project management. So by the standard, you work in the project “Default”, even if you have never created another project.
As settings are stored in the respective project folder, everything fits the installation after it has been set once.
Adjustments of the evaluation file are retained for each project.
Send lists of the protocol monitor harmonizing with the installation.
The selection of symbol files matches the attachment.
For easy differentiation of projects, the selected project name is displayed on the lock screen and within the control center. In addition, a separate background image can be set.
Due to the conversion to projects, the settings menu also had to be changed. We now distinguish more strongly between device information and settings and project-related settings. The overall layout appears more logical.
The minor modification concerns the app
Bus status, instead of three there are now 4 levels.
||The display refers to the last second.
||Between CAN_H and CAN_L a static voltage difference between 0.5 and 0.9 V is measured.
||A static voltage difference > 0.9 V is measured between CAN_H and CAN_L.
||A static voltage difference < 0.5 V is measured between CAN_H and CAN_L.
||A level change is detected, but no valid CAN telegrams can be detected. The baud rate is probably not set correctly.
||The bus status lamp only turns green when the tester has detected at least one valid CAN telegram on the bus.
The Online Trigger app now allows you to create
Measurement archives, which can be imported into the CBT2 software as usual. For this purpose, it was necessary to merge the measurement data into a single file. Please note that an update of the CAN-Bus Tester 2 software is required to import the data successfully.
From this software version onwards, the CANtouch also displays the
Memory usage of the internal drive. It is displayed sorted once by file type and once sorted by project. In this way, it is possible to delete the memory more efficiently if the memory is at risk of becoming full.
Of the minor changes, the improvement of the
Oscilloscope display is worth mentioning. The entire measuring range is now displayed here as in CAN-Bus Tester 2, the restriction to a width of 8448 px has been removed. This applies to the apps node measurement and online trigger.
Another small change was introduced on customer request: the
Type of the SAE J1939 system (SAE J1939 /ISOBUS /NMEA 2000) can now be selected and the device displays the corresponding logo in the App node measurement.
After a data backup (if required) and the installation of this update, we recommend that you activate the new function
Restore factory status once. This deletes the files that have become obsolete by the project management. The measurement data is now only stored in the projects. You can then restore your settings files to the » Projects » Default folder or to a new project.
