GEMAC, as a long-time specialist in the field of physical fieldbus diagnostics, has been dealing with the technological basics for about 30 years and presented the first diagnostic solutions for CAN-based networks on the market about 20 years ago.
In the continuation of this technology, GEMAC will present a completely new and significantly more powerful generation of Intensive Fieldbus Diagnostic (IFD) at the end of 2023, which in the future will include digital and functional diagnostics in addition to physical diagnostics. This involves breaking new ground both conceptually and in terms of software.
HARDWARE
- Rugged outdoor housing with VESA mount
- High-resolution 10″ rugged touch display as optimal basis for rough working environments
- Remote measuring unit for direct connection to the CAN bus (without signal-distorting stubs) enables measurements even in hard-to-reach places
- High-resolution 12bit 2‑channel oscilloscope with comprehensive decoding and adjustable time and voltage ranges
- Waterproof measuring device case with complete accessories
SOFTWARE
- Adaptation of the software depending on the protocol used by the application via license key (CAN, CAN FD, CANopen, DeviceNet, SAE J1939)
- Comprehensive project management including segment, participant and measurement management
- Extension by a database solution for a multitude of machine documents (e.g. circuit diagrams, maintenance intervals, data sheets etc.)
MEASUREMENTS ON
PHYSICAL
AND DIGITAL
LEVEL
- At the physical level, even more comprehensive CAN bus measurements are possible, including CAN FD signal quality assessments and bit timing measurements
- The combination of a dual-channel oscilloscope with decoding and automatic determination of signal quality makes the GT3 a powerful tool for troubleshooting, signal analysis, protocol monitoring and the development of CAN-based circuits and systems
- Protocol monitor with decoding of CANopen, CANopen-FD and SAE J1939
- Transmitting and receiving CAN and CAN FD messages
- Symbolic decoding of CAN, CAN FD
- Protocol analysis detects protocol errors, missing devices, installed components, unexpected status changes
- Signal analysis records the signal curves of the digitally transmitted signals, compares them with a reference model and issues traffic light warnings
- A configurable visualization of the digital signals provides insights into the functioning of the machine
IN PLANNING
As an extension of the scope of services, the integration of an OBD-II analysis for the functional level is planned. OBD-II (on-board diagnostics) is a standardized diagnostic system that standardizes vehicle diagnostics and facilitates vehicle repair.
In the future, a complex overall solution for fieldbus diagnostics for mobile power machines will be offered, which combines the physical, digital and functional levels in one diagnostic solution.
