New functions in CAN-Bus Tester 2 – User software
With the actual software version 4.6.6, you get some useful improvements. Please click on the screenshots to see a bigger version.
The composition of Quality Level
In general, the quality level is a theoretical value, composited from the steepness of edges, disturbance-free voltage level and reflections. Please read this article for more details about it. In the new software version, it is now possible to show how the measured quality level is composited. With this, it may be easier to know, which of the three values is responsible for a deterioration. It is displayed within a tool-tip when you place and hold the mouse pointer over the value for a moment, both within the single node measurement and within the bar view of all nodes with the selected node.
Resolution of Traffic Load Display
The resolution of the traffic load display is now increased. Instead of showing an integer percentage, now tenths of a percent are showed. The display is highly accurate and based on the last second. Valid CAN frames are detected and are shown in a little display beside the traffic load bar.
CANopen Master within the node list
Detected CANopen-masters are now shown in the node list or can be manually added. Because within a CANopen network it is possible to have more than one master, an assignment of the type is possible. With this functionality, masters can now be measured on the physical level.
Import of CANtouch measurement archives
Already within version 4.6.4, there was an extension to import CANtouch measurement archives. With this, it is now possible to get the popular measurement reports from CANtouch measurements.
Statistic functionality in the protocol monitor
The protocol monitor was improved with a statistic function for relative timestamps. You can now see how much time was between 2 messages from a node, minimal, maximal and average. This is of course also available for the standalone protocol monitor CANvision.
